(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement applauding the vote in the U.S. House of Representatives this afternoon giving final Congressional approval of the American Rescue Plan:
“Final passage of the American Rescue Plan is a game changer for Connecticut and the entire nation. President Biden pledged to all Americans that his administration would meet the challenge of this pandemic head-on using every tool at the U.S. government’s disposal. This legislation is a tremendous step in fulfilling that promise. I commend President Biden, Congressional Democrats, and particularly Connecticut’s Congressional delegation for their leadership and commitment to providing long-delayed relief for millions of American families, small businesses, state and local governments, our schools and child care system, and communities struggling with the economic fallout of this pandemic. It is a remarkable achievement.”
