(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement in response to a rule finalized by the Trump administration this afternoon that will remove nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people when it comes to health care and health insurance:
“At a time when the rest of the country is having a conversation about what we can do to eliminate discrimination, the Trump administration is going the extra mile to do what they can to increase it. This decision is unnecessarily harsh on LGBTQ Americans and is a step backward from the direction our nation should be heading. I urge the administration to reverse course and put these protections back into effect.”
