(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has scheduled Tuesday, January 21, 2020 as the date to hold a special election to fill a vacancy for state representative in the 151st Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
The seat, which consists of portions of Greenwich, became vacant on December 2 following the resignation of Fred Camillo.
Under state law, the governor is required to issue a writ of special election within ten days of a vacancy in the General Assembly and a special election must be held exactly 46 days after the date the writ was issued. Governor Lamont issued the writ today.
Last week, Governor Lamont directed special elections to be held on January 14 for two other vacant seats in the House of Representatives, including for the 48th Assembly District, which became vacant on November 20, and the 132nd Assembly District, which became vacant on November 22.
