Governor Lamont Statement on Supreme Court Census Decision

6/27/2019

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision today regarding the citizenship question and the 2020 census:

“The Supreme Court today saw through a cynical and unfair attempt to influence the census for political advantage. While important, this decision is a temporary victory in the ongoing fight to clear a path for greater fairness and integrity in our census process. We are and will always be a country of immigrants and refugees. We will continue our fight to protect those core values, as we recently did when we strengthened our commitment to the Trust Act in Connecticut.”
