“William J. Pape II was an iconic figure in Connecticut. For 60 years, Mr. Pape delivered quality journalism to the greater Waterbury area. In his own words, he was a true ‘newspaperman’ who was fiercely dedicated to in-depth local coverage, freedom of the press, and government transparency – principles that serve as the cornerstones of his legacy.
