Hearing Scheduled on Monday September 16 2024 for SSBG Federal Fiscal Year 2025

The committees of cognizance for SSBG have scheduled a public hearing on Monday, September 16, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m. in Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford CT. Members of the public are encouraged to submit written comments. Comments can be submitted here, or can be emailed to the Committees in Word or PDF format as follows:

  • Appropriations: APPtestimony@cga.ct.gov; and
  • Human Services: HStestimony@cga.ct.gov

Immediately following the public hearing, committee meetings will be held in accordance with CSG 4-28b to take action on the allocation plan.

Social Services Block Grant Allocation Plan – Federal Fiscal Year 2025
The SSBG is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its administrative agency, the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Community Services. The Connecticut Department of Social Services is designated as the principal state agency for the allocation and administration of the Block Grant within the State of Connecticut. The block grant legislation gives the state significant discretion in providing a wide range of services.
