How to Request NBS Results - For Providers
Newborn Screening results are automatically sent to the submitter of the dried blood spot specimen. In the majority of cases, this will be the birth hospital. If you need NBS results for a child in your care, please fax a request to the Newborn Screening Program at the State Laboratory at 860-730-8385. If you have a clinical concern about a baby's health, please contact the NBS program by phone at 860-920-6628 so that we can expedite your request. For parents, click here.
Use your facility's letterhead to fax a request to the Connecticut Newborn Screening Program at 860-730-8385. Please include the following information:The baby's name, baby's date of birth, mother's name, hospital of birth, and the fax number to send the results to.
**Please note that the State Laboratory does not conduct Newborn Screening for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF results are available by contacting the UConn CF Lab Program at 860-679-4439 or the Yale CF Laboratory at 203-688-9884.
