The Federal Government has reopened COVIDtests.gov. Every household can order four over-the-counter COVID-19 tests for free. These tests are intended for use throughout the 2024 holiday season to detect currently circulating COVID-19 variants. Please visit COVIDtests.gov for your free test.

The Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rule (Stage 2 DBPR) was published in the Federal Register on January 4, 2006. The Stage 2 DBPR is intended to reduce potential cancer and reproductive and developmental health risks from disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in drinking water, which form when disinfectants are used to control microbial pathogens. The Stage 2 DBPR applies to community and non-transient non-community water systems that add and/or deliver water that is treated with a primary or residual disinfectant. There are 237 systems that will be impacted by the Stage 2 DBPR. Of these systems, 201 will be impacted by the early implementation activities of the Stage 2 DBPR.

The following documents and links are provided to help water system owners and operators understand their Stage 2 DBPR responsibilities:
