HIPAA Notice
The Department of Public Health (the “Department”) is a “hybrid entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) regulations. This means that some of the Department’s functions are covered by HIPAA, and some are not. The Department’s covered functions include the State Public Health Laboratory, the Connecticut AIDS Drug Assistance Program (CADAP), and the Connecticut Insurance Premium Assistance (CIPA) Program.
