Overview of Agency's Role in Implementing ARRA
 
The Connecticut Department of Public Health is responsible for implementing the following American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) programs:
  • Safe Drinking Water
  • Lead Abatement
  • Community Health Centers
  • Immunizations
  • Women, Infants and Children
  • Healthcare-Associated Infections
  • Health Information Technology

    Project Lists
    • Ambulatory Surgery Centers 
    • Community Health Centers - Grants to health centers including New Access Points Grants
      • Capital Improvement Program (CIP)/Health IT - Construction, renovation and equipment, acquisition of health information technology
      • Workforce Development - Health professions workforce shortages, provide scholarships, loan repayments, and grants to training programs for equipment; National Health Services Corps
    • Comparative Research - Accelerate development and dissemination of research assessing the comparative effectiveness of health care treatments and strategies.  Encourage the development and use of clinical registries, clinical data networks, and other forms of electronic health data that can be used to generate or obtain outcomes data.
    • Drinking Water Title VII - Drinking Water State Revolving Fund  (50% of capitalization grants to provide forgiveness of principal, negative interest loans or grants or any combo.)
