- Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases - FOA# CDC-RFACI10-1007ARRA10: Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC): Infrastructure and Interoperability Support for Public Health Laboratories - At the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), a modern laboratory information system (LIMS) and a modern electronic disease surveillance system (MAVEN) are nearing completion. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding will accelerate the development of both the LIMS and MAVEN, so that laboratory data can be shared electronically between the State Public Health Laboratory and DPH disease prevention programs.
- Health Information Technology - $20,000,000 to the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Department of Commerce for continued work on advancing health care information enterprise integration through activities such as technical standards analysis and establishment of conformance testing infrastructure; Regional or sub-national efforts toward health information exchange; Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund to improve information

Health Care Facility Environmental - Construction projects; deferred maintenance and improvement projects;backlog of sanitation projects
National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP). NHSC LRP will be available for Primary Care physicians, Certified Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives, Physician Assistants, General Practice Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Health Service Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Psychiatric Nurse Specialists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Professional Counselors. An applicant selected to participate in the NHSC LRP must fulfill his or her service obligation at an approved NHSC community site(s) for a two-year period. Services sites must be located in Health Professional Shortage Areas and are approved by the NHSC. The applications may be obtained at http://nhsc.hrsa.gov/communities/apply.htm.
