Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno Statement on Bond Commission

Connecticut Department of Housing

COMMISSIONER SEILA MOSQUERA-BRUNO STATEMENT ON BOND COMMISSION

(HARTFORD, CT) “Thank you Governor Lamont, the Bond Commission, and our legislators for approving the investment of $111.7 million in Housing including another $25 million to increase first time homeownership through our Time to Own program.

The state will continue to invest in building Housing for All. The $111 million approved today will be leveraged to develop homes for our residents with lower incomes, which is where the largest need for housing exists. As of today, we have over 7,000 units under construction and have completed more than 14,000 since 2019.

From increasing supportive housing to improving our shelters, to expanding homeownership, offering gap financing, investing in preservation, and building middle-income housing — the Department of Housing uses every possible tool to provide our residents with housing they can afford.”
