Statewide Citizen Corps Advisory Council
Overview
The Connecticut Statewide Citizen Corps Advisory Council (SCCC) serves as an ESF-5 working group of the DEMHS Advisory Council. The Council's primary purpose is to make policy recommendations to the Deputy Commissioner of DEMHS and to brief the DEMHS Advisory Council with
regard to the implementation of statewide strategic planning for the Connecticut Citizen Corps Program. The SCCC Operates in accordance with the Connecticut Statewide Citizen Corps Advisory Council Bylaws.
Citizen Corps Funding
The Statewide Citizen Corps Program (CCP) is a sub-program of the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP). CCP funds are allocated and requested at the Homeland Security Working Group annually by the Statewide Citizen Corps Advisory Council (SCCC). These funds are used to support the annual goals and mission of the SCCC and provides funding for planning and training for the continued sustainment and growth of Citizen Corps (CERT and MRC) teams statewide.
