The Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) is an independent, quasi-judicial state agency that regulates the siting of energy generating and storage facilities over 1 megawatt (MW), as well as electric and fuel transmission lines, telecommunications towers, and related infrastructure.

Since 2012, the CSC has approved over 100 formal proposals to establish new solar facilities to generate clean electricity in over 60 towns, but not all of these approved facilities are currently operational. The map and dashboard displayed here is based on the database of approved petitions and dockets that is maintained on the CSC’s website. The following elements of solar facilities are included on the dashboard:

  • Applicant Company: the company on the CSC website that submitted the formal proposal.
  • Generator Company: a Generator Company may own/represent several individual applicant companies.
  • Town: represents an approximate address at which the facility/ies are located for the purpose of showing a point on a map.
  • Petition/Docket #: includes a link with each facility to the relevant Petition or Docket on the CSC website for additional information.
  • Capacity (MW): includes each facility’s generating capacity in megawatts (MW) at the level approved by the CSC.
