Outreach on the 2026 Nationwide Permits
As of 3/15/2026 the US Army Corps of Engineers began implementation of Nationwide Permits in New England and is no longer processing Self Verifications or Pre Construction Notices under the 2021 Department of Army Regional General Permits for Connecticut. Other Updates:
Because businesses need to know what to expect, as part of DEEP's work to deliver timely permitting decisions (Goal 2 in 20BY26), as of July 1, 2025, the LWRD permitting programs launched a new pilot program that refreshes DEEP's approach to permit processing with a fast-lane system to:
- determine application completeness and
- focus on more timely processing of complete applications.
This permitting framework will increase transparency for applicants on their permit’s readiness to be processed and move forward only those permits that have all the regulatory components. For additional information please refer to the following document: LWRD's New Permitting Lanes Framework.
