MEDIA ADVISORY: DEEP, DAS, OPM to Hold GreenerGov CT Steering Committee Meeting April 21st
(HARTFORD)—The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will host the annual meeting of the GreenerGov CT Steering Committee on April 21st, 2026 at 10 a.m. GreenerGov CT, at the direction of Governor Ned Lamont’s Executive Order No. 1 (2019), asks state agencies to lead by example by reducing waste and lowering operating costs.
Co-chaired by DEEP, the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), and the Office of Policy and Management (OPM), the GreenerGov CT Team’s Steering Committee meeting will provide a public update on progress toward targets to reduce energy use, water, waste, and greenhouse gas emissions in state agencies. The Steering Committee can also provide agencies with technical assistance, support, and guidance on the targets.
The Department of Labor (DOL) and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) are two agencies who will highlight their recent successes. Bruce Becker, President of Becker + Becker, a Westport-based integrated sustainable architecture and development firm, will be the keynote speaker.
The agenda for the meeting has been posted on the Secretary of State’s website. The meeting presentation and minutes will be posted on the GreenerGov website.
