EnCon Police Identify Victim of Fatal Fall in Kent

(HARTFORD)- The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon), along with CT State Police, responded to the Appalachian Trail on River Rd in the town of Kent on Thursday afternoon for the report of a fall victim.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Collin Salmon, was rock climbing in the area known at St.John’s ledges, near the Appalachian Trail, when he fell. Salmon was transported to New Milford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Mr. Salmon, of Great Barrington, MA, previously resided in Warren, CT.

DEEP extends its condolences to Collin’s family and friends. The Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. The incident remains under investigation.
