Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. Rocky Neck State Park is also closed until further notice due to a brush fire. Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at a 'very high' or 'extreme' level. MEDIA ADVISORY: DEEP to Hold Public Meeting on Draft Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap

(HARTFORD)--The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will hold a public meeting on Monday, July 29, to present and discuss the main findings of its Draft 2024 Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap.

Who: Relevant stakeholders, media, and the public are invited to attend.

What: The Draft 2024 Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap is an important part of the State’s planning for energy decarbonization pathways and total future energy demand.  The Draft Roadmap seeks to articulate the State’s aspirations for clean hydrogen’s integration into our energy landscape; guide strategic development of clean hydrogen infrastructure; identify benefits and risks associated with hydrogen and ways to address any risks; and recommend policies, programs, and projects to support clean hydrogen development in alignment with state goals.

When: July 29, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Where: 79 Elm Street, Hartford, CT, 06106, in the Gina McCarthy Auditorium (5th floor) and via Zoom.  Check-in with the security front desk is required at DEEP Headquarters, please have a valid state ID available. Parking will be available at 120 Capital Avenue, Hartford.
