MEDIA AVAILABILITY: DEEP Conducts Annual Walleye Stocking Oct. 26
Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Fisheries Division staff be conducting annual Walleye stocking on Monday, Oct. 26. The stocking crew will be assembling and meeting the truck load of fish, which is coming in from Minnesota, at 7:00 am at the Lake Zoar State Boat Launch in Southbury. There, staff will be loaded with their allocation of Walleye and then head out to their designated stocking location.
Prior to the arrival of the Walleye, DEEP Supervising Fisheries Biologist Mike Beauchene will be available for an interview at the boat launch at 6:30 a.m. Following the interview, members of the media are welcome to capture the Walleye allocation/departure of the stocking crews, and the subsequent stocking of Walleye in Lake Zoar.
