CT DEEP Announces the Great Park Pursuit Family Adventure Kick-off at Chatfield Hollow State Park, Killingworth Saturday, May 11, 2019

Families can register starting today, Friday March 29, 2019 at: www.nochildleftinside.org

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that registration for the 2019 No Child Left Inside® Great Park Pursuit – Connecticut State Parks’ Family Adventure is now open at www.NoChildLeftInside.org. The Great Park Pursuit is a series of activities designed to introduce families to the outdoors, build the next generation of environmental stewards, and showcase Connecticut’s State Parks and Forests.

The 2019 Great Park Pursuit kicks-off with Free Family Fishing Day (no license required) at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth on Saturday, May 11, from 9 AM – 3 PM. Great Park Pursuit events will conclude June 15 at Lake Waramaug State Park in Kent. Each week will have a different environmental theme and related activities over the course of the six weeks at different state parks and forests.

Registration is not required, but families or teams (with at least one adult 18 years or older and one child under 18) who do pre-register and attend all six weeks of the program will be eligible to participate in the overnight campout at Lake Waramaug and to receive a prize.

To be eligible for the final prize, families must pre-register by May 3, 2019, attend all six weeks of the program, check in at the registration table at each location, hand in a completed activity card, and provide the required documentation that they attended the self-guided events.

Please note that the No Child Left Inside® website has been upgraded and was relaunched earlier this week. Please visit www.NoChildLeftInside.org.
