Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at an 'extreme' level. More information about the current fire danger, burn ban and recommended safety measures can be found here

Kellogg Brides and Grooms

Are you a Kellogg bride and groom?  We want your wedding photos!  If your wedding pictures were taken at Osbornedale State Park and the Kellogg Estate gardens in Derby, we would like to feature them in a special museum exhibition. October 2019 will mark the 100th wedding anniversary of Frances Osborne and Waldo Kellogg. The Osborne Homestead Museum will celebrate their anniversary with a special exhibition displaying your wedding photos taken at the estate gardens and the park.
Frances Eliza Osborne and Waldo Stewart Kellogg married in October 21, 1919, and their love was as strong as “‘Romeo & Juliet’ or any of the "storybook lovers.” Frances was a business woman and community leader when she met Waldo, an architect who supervised the design of the Carnegie libraries in New York City and the Veteran’s Hospital in West Haven. After they married, they ran Osbornedale Farm, now Osbornedale State Park, and made it second to none in the New England dairy industry. They raised Holstein-Friesian cattle which won prestigious awards at the Big Eastern States Exposition.  
We would love to feature your wedding photos at the Osborne Homestead Museum during the month of October.
