Felted Wool Class at Kellogg Environmental Center

Cold nights and snowy days allow for some great time to learn a new skill and craft.  The Kellogg Environmental Center is excited to host a special Felted Wool Class on Sunday, February 24 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for adults and children age 8 and older. Led by Dawn Sotir from Coon Hollow Farm, participants will learn the history and techniques of felting wool as applied to different wool types. Each participant will learn the steps involved in this creative and versatile craft. Every participant will be supplied the materials to make a penguin or will be able to choose to make another creature from a selection of alternatives.
This is a great, fun way to get together with friends and family to create and learn. Individuals will be able to take home their handiwork. Registration is required, fee for participation is $10.00 to cover speaker fees, materials, and refreshments. Kits will be available for purchase during the class to continue the creativity at home.
Dawn is an experienced teacher of crafts, agriculture, historical, and environmental topics.  She is often found at the David Humphreys House, Ansonia Schools or the Ansonia Nature Center leading adults and children in a variety of activities.
