Book Reading and Signing Featuring Local Artist’s Wildlife Photographs

Join photographer and author, Tammy DiCenso, at the Kellogg Environmental Center, Derby, on Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. for a special book reading and signing.  Her book, Do You Want to Take a Selfie? features photographs of wildlife taken locally by DiCenso.  Children and adults alike will enjoy this tale of a gosling, in search of assistance in taking a selfie from the variety of animals living in and around wetlands.
On display at the Kellogg Environmental Center through the month of September, are “Found in My Hometown,” a show highlighting landscapes and wildlife captured on film by Tammy DiCenso along the river walk in Derby. A resident of Derby, DiCenso found her passion for photography by looking at life through a lens.  Her photos capture the beauty of nature that is right outside our doors and often missed if one does not take the time to look.  Her first book, Do You Want to Take a Selfie?, grew out of her photography and this fall her second story, Whatcha Looking At? will be available.
Participants will have time to enjoy the photography, meet the artist, purchase a book, have it signed, take a walk and share a selfie. Refreshments will be served after the reading.
The program and reading are free, registration is requested.  Kellogg Environmental Center is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue, Derby.  For further information, directions, or to register, contact the Kellogg Environmental Center at (203) 734-2513 or email donna.kingston@ct.gov.
