Game of Logging II at Goodwin Conservation Center, Hampton
Join instructor Bill Girard, Certified Instructor of Girard Custom Cut Hardwoods, for the world-renowned “Game of Logging” chainsaw training program on Saturday, July 29 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Goodwin Conservation Center, 23 Potter Road, Hampton. He has been a full-time logger for over 30 years, and owns and operates a variety of logging equipment.
The “hands-on” course is designed for amateur users who wish to improve their skills and to operate their saw safely. Students bring their own saws, practice the skills taught and have the opportunity to fell trees under the guidance of a professional instructor. Topics include: reduced down time maintenance, sharpening, bar and sprocket maintenance, spring poles and tree felling.
Registration is required by 7/22/17 and the fee is $120 for nonmembers and $100 for Connecticut Forest and Park Association (CFPA) and Friends of Goodwin Forest members. Ages 18 and up may participate in this program.
