Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. Osborne Homestead Museum, Derby Opens in May

The Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby will reopen for its 34th season on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Guided tours will introduce visitors to the extraordinary life of Frances Osborne Kellogg and to her wonderful collection of antiques and fine art in this charming Colonial Revival house.  As the spring season unfolds, enjoy the flowering trees, aromatic shrubs, and splendid flowers of the Kellogg Estate.
 
The Osborne Homestead Museum will be open for guided tours on the following days:
Thursday and Fridays:            10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday:                               10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday:                                  12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. through October.
Frances Osborne Kellogg had a tradition of supporting the arts and promoting conservation.  This tradition continues with special events in June:

June 10  Connecticut Open House Day   10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Connecticut Office of Tourism is sponsoring the 12th annual Connecticut Open House Day, a statewide event designed to showcase Connecticut’s history, art, and culture.  The Osborne Homestead Museum is joining their effort by providing a special presentation on the Japanese art form ukiyo-e, a crafts workshop, and free tours of the museum featuring Japanese woodblock prints and Asian art. 
June 25  Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day   12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day is a special state-wide celebration of Connecticut’s stunning historic gardens.  The Osborne Homestead Museum is one of fifteen members of the prestigious Connecticut’s Historic Gardens whose different garden styles are honored on this day.
