Office of Federal and Regional Energy Policy
About
The Office of Federal and Regional Energy Policy works to:
- Participate in federal and regional energy proceedings and partnerships, including regional wholesale market design, transmission planning and deployment, and other Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and ISO-New England related issues.
- Facilitate regional collaboration between CT DEEP and other New England states (and other states as appropriate) to pursue federal funding related to improving electricity grid resiliency and reliability.
- Pursue reforms in transmission planning and deployment to ensure ratepayers get the most benefits out of money spent on transmission development in the region.
- Collaborate with other states to advocate for energy market rules at ISO-NE that align with CT’s state policies and to provide our residents and business with access to the most affordable and reliable electricity prices possible.
