Gov. Malloy Announces Magnetic Technologies to Relocate to Connecticut from Massachusetts
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Magnetic Technologies Ltd., an advanced manufacturer of high-quality, magnetic brakes for the wire and cable industry, is relocating to Putnam, Connecticut, where the company will build its new headquarters. The $5.26 million project will create 40 jobs over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy Announces Media Companies ITV America and Wheelhouse Entertainment Establishing Operations in Connecticut, Creating Hundreds of New Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that award-winning entertainment production group ITV America – the largest independent producer of non-scripted entertainment content in the United States – will be relocating a significant portion of its business operations to Stamford. Additionally, newly launched Wheelhouse Entertainment – founded by entrepreneur and media magnate Brent Montgomery – also will be using Stamford as one of its bases of operations. Combined, the two entertainment companies plan to create approximately 450 jobs in Stamford across areas of finance and operations, production, and post-production, and more.

Gov. Malloy: PricewaterhouseCoopers Plans Significant Connecticut Expansion That Will Create 400 New Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), the U.S. firm in one of the largest professional services networks in the world, is planning a major expansion project in Connecticut that will see the creation of up to 400 new jobs in the state over the next five years. The company plans to spend $20 million on the expansion, which includes establishing Stamford as the headquarters for its Insourced Solutions for Tax (IST) division.

Gov. Malloy Announces Historic Long-Term Partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced an historic partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat (EB) that will help the company grow their workforce by nearly 1,900 bringing it to more than 13,000 by 2034, allow for capital investments of greater than $800 million in the state over the next 17 years, and more than double their spending on in-state suppliers, which are located in 102 Connecticut cities and towns. Connecticut’s investment will allow EB to maintain its position as the highest-quality provider of submarines to the U.S. Navy, thus capturing additional overhaul and repair work while continuing the delivery of the Virginia Class Submarines.

Gov. Malloy Announces Mayborn Group has Relocated its U.S. Headquarters to Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Mayborn Group, a global manufacturer of baby products, has relocated its U.S. headquarters from Norwood, Massachusetts to Stamford, Connecticut. The company currently employs 16 and plans to add an additional 7 workers by 2019.

Gov. Malloy Announces Sema4 Plans to Relocate its New York Laboratory to Connecticut and Create Over 400 Jobs in the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Sema4, a Mount Sinai venture providing advanced genomic testing, is planning grow its presence in Connecticut by adding 408 new jobs over the next five years. The health information technology company is moving forward with expansions at its two existing locations in the state, including its recently announced headquarters at 333 Ludlow Street in Stamford and its laboratory at 1 Commercial Street in Branford. In addition, the company will soon be relocating laboratory facilities from New York City to a yet-to-be-determined site in Stamford. The move will bring the company’s job presence in Connecticut to at least 553 employees.

Gov. Malloy Announces Infosys Will Establish a Technology and Innovation Hub and Create 1,000 High-Tech Jobs in Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology, and next-generation IT services, is planning to establish a technology and innovation hub in Hartford. The $20.6 million project will see the creation of 1,000 good paying, high-tech jobs in the state’s capital city by 2022.

Gov. Malloy Announces Municipalities Can Begin Applying for Consideration as Opportunity Zones
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has begun an application process for towns and cities that are interested in participating in the federal government’s recently established Opportunity Zone program. A new community development program, Opportunity Zones are a creation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to induce long-term investments in low-income communities.

Gov. Malloy Announces ASML Intends to Expand its Connecticut Manufacturing Facility and Add Hundreds of New Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that ASML, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment, is planning to substantially grow its operations in Wilton, Connecticut through an expansion project that will see the creation of up to 524 new jobs added to its current workforce in the town of 1,222 employees.

Gov. Malloy Announces Opportunities for Local Communities to Remediate and Revitalize Clusters of Blighted Properties
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is now accepting applications for a second round of grant funding under a recently created state grant program that is designed to help local entities create plans for remediating and redeveloping clusters of blighted properties – also known as “brownfields” – within a community.

Gov. Malloy: Manufacturing Innovation Fund Annual Report Shows Long-Term Benefits for State’s Economy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today announced the results of the Manufacturing Innovation Fund (MIF) annual report. As of June 2017, the MIF has assisted nearly 900 companies and invested over $43.7 million to help accelerate growth, cultivate talent and boost investments in innovation.

Malloy today announced that as a result of recent state efforts to assist businesses in expanding and relocating to Connecticut, 13 companies have committed to growing 1,594 new jobs and retaining 2,949 employees across the state utilizing economic development tools designed to increase competitiveness and strengthen support for businesses.

Gov. Malloy Announces $13.6 Million in Funding to Remediate and Revitalize Blighted Properties in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $13.6 million in state funding will be awarded to 14 municipalities across Connecticut to assess, remediate and revitalize blighted properties in their communities – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use. The projects encompass 89 acres of redevelopment.

Gov. Malloy: Five Years After Superstorm Sandy, Connecticut Has Made Significant Storm Resiliency Improvements
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and officials from across state government – on the fifth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy – today highlighted the progress made over the last several years to strengthen resiliency and harden infrastructure from future potential storms, as severe weather has continued to severely impact our nation. Superstorm Sandy was one of the biggest natural disasters to hit Connecticut in more than 60 years, the Governor said.

Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut’s Submission for Amazon’s Second Headquarters
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today unveiled the State of Connecticut’s proposal for Amazon’s second headquarters, which includes sites in the Hartford and Stamford regions. Last month, Amazon announced that it was seeking a site for a second headquarters – known as “Amazon HQ2” – in North America, which will create tens of thousands of additional jobs.
