How many repair attempts are required under Lemon Law?

The law presumes a "reasonable number" of repairs attempts as four, but:
You may have a claim with fewer repair attempts. If so, you must provide an argument of why you believe that less than four attempts was reasonable.
For example, a defect that may cause injury might be eligible.

OR

When the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more for any number of unrelated problems.

OR

In the case there is safety defect likely to cause death or serious injury if the vehicle is driven, and the defect continues to exist after 2 or more attempts during the first year of operation or the first 24,000 miles, whichever period comes first.

NOTE: You must have a reasonable number of repair attempts, within the eligibility period, before using the Lemon Law Arbitration Program.
