Dispensing Group Assistant Registration
Section 1 of Public Act 23-52 requires group practices that dispense a seventy-two-hour supply of legend drugs or legend devices to register with the Department of Consumer Protection. The law is effective January 1, 2024.
Purpose
This registration allows the Dispensing Group Assistant to perform the duties of a pharmacy technician, provided the dispensing assistant performs such duties under the supervision of a prescribing practitioner who is employed by or affiliated with, or a pharmacist who is employed by, the dispensing group practice that employs such dispensing assistant.
Prerequisites
- Must be employed by registered Dispensing Group Practice.
