Reducing Junk Mail
The Data & Marketing Association’s Mail Preference Service lets consumers opt out of receiving unsolicited commercial mail from many national companies for ten years at a time. Once you register with this service for a $2 fee, your name is put in a “delete” file made available to direct-mail marketers. However, your registration will not stop mailings from organizations that do not use the DMA’s Mail Preference Service. To register go to www.dmachoice.org.
