Long Island Sound Resource and Use Inventory/Long Island Sound Blue Plan Survey

Dear Colleague,

The Long Island Sound Resource and Use Inventory and the Long Island Sound Blue Plan were called for by the Connecticut General Assembly (CGA) through Public Act 15-66 and were unanimously adopted by the CGA in 2021. The law that established the Inventory and Blue Plan also requires that these documents be reviewed and updated every five years. To assist in that effort, we have developed this survey that seeks feedback on your familiarity with the Inventory and Blue Plan.

However, even if you are not familiar with the Resource and Use Inventory or the Blue Plan, we hope you will still complete the survey. Your insights and input will give us a sense of why Long Island Sound is important to you, which, in turn, can help improve the Blue Plan and the data and information contained in the Inventory.

So please complete the survey now. It will only take 10 minutes, and it will give us a wealth of information.

And when you’re done, you can learn more about the Long Island Sound Resource and Use Inventory and Blue Plan by visiting the Blue Plan website where, in addition to the Inventory and Blue Plan, you will find a video series and a link to the Long Island Sound Blue Plan Map Viewer to see maps of where the Sound’s resources and human uses are located, at least the ones that we currently know about.

You can also join the Blue Plan Listserv to receive information and updates about the Blue Plan and our revision efforts.

Finally, please feel free to reach out to me at Melanie.Bachman@ct.gov or DEEP’s Blue Plan liaison Mary-beth Hart at marybeth.hart@ct.gov if you have any questions about the survey, or comments to share about Long Island Sound.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Melanie Bachman
