Cellular Symposium

The Connecticut Siting Council announces that it will hold a Cellular Symposium on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut. The tentative schedule for the event is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

This Symposium is intended to facilitate the informal exchange of ideas and information about current issues and future trends in the wireless telecommunications industry. It will feature workshops involving discussions and presentations by cellular telephone industry experts. Topics will cover a variety of areas such as technical matters, land use issues,tower designs, and innovative methods for providing network coverage in the coming years.

The Keynote Speaker for the event will be Leslie Cauley, a telecommunications writer with USA TODAY. Ms. Cauley has been a business journalist for more than twenty years, spending nine years as a staff writer and editor for The Wall Street Journal. Ms. Cauley has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize three times and is the author of End of the Line: The Rise and Fall of AT&T (Free Press, August 2005).

The Cellular Symposium will be open to the public free of charge. Attendance of the Keynote Luncheon will require registration and a small fee, and seating will be limited. A program brochure will be mailed in January and will be available upon request by contacting our office.
