Minutes of the February 9, 2022 special meeting of the Council on Environmental Quality (Council) held in compliance with Governor Lamont’s Executive Order 7B. 

MEMBERS PRESENT: Keith Ainsworth (Acting Chair), Matt Reiser, Alicea Charamut, Charles Vidich, David Kalafa, William Warzecha, and Kip Kolesinskas.

ALSO IN ATTENDANCE: Peter Hearn (Executive Director) 

1. Call to Order; Establishment of a Quorum 

At 10:02 AM, Chair Ainsworth called the meeting to order. Ainsworth took attendance and confirmed that there was a quorum of Council members present. 

2. Approval of Agenda 

Ainsworth asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Vidich made a motion to approve the agenda, which was seconded by Charamut and approved unanimously. 

3. Adjourn to executive session to discuss the personnel matter of succession of the Executive Director upon retirement

Chair Ainsworth announced that Peter Hearn, the Executive Director, has announced his retirement effective May 31st. He asked for a motion to adjourn to executive session to discuss the personnel matter of his succession and asked that Hearn participate as an “expert” in the meeting’s discussions. Vidich so moved. Seconded by Kalafa, and by unanimous consent the Council adjourned to executive session.

4. Return to the special session

At the conclusion of the executive session Chair Ainsworth called for a motion to conclude the executive session. The motion was made by Vidich and seconded by Charamut and approved by all.


5. Adjourn

There being no additional business, at 11:05 AM Ainsworth asked for a motion to adjourn the special meeting. That motion was made by Vidich, seconded by Warzecha and approved by all.
