There is a total of 25 hours required for training. Twenty hours may be on-the-job training of tasks expected of a dispensary technician and the remaining five hours must consist of:
- One-hour of education on professional dispensing conduct;
- One-hour of education on professional ethics;
- One-hour of education on state and federal laws of patient confidentiality; and
- Two-hours of education on the developments in medical marijuana use.
*Note: It is within the discretion of the establishment as to the education platform used to satisfy this requirement. Examples of acceptable platforms include formalized third party continued education programs, self-study, or in-house programs developed by the establishment. While the department does not approve programs, establishments may reach out to the department for a courtesy review.
