Eligible Connecticut Borrowers Who Lost Homes to Foreclosure To Receive Nearly $7 Million from National Settlement
Attorney General George Jepsen said today that as a result of the national mortgage foreclosure servicing settlement, nearly $7 million is being distributed in Connecticut to approximately 5,000 Connecticut borrowers who lost their homes to foreclosure.

Attorney General Reaches $9.9 Million Settlement With Key Defendants in Medicaid Billing Lawsuit
Attorney General George Jepsen today announced a $9.9 million settlement with Gary Anusavice of North Kingstown, R.I., and six of his management and consulting companies, settling the state’s civil fraud claims stemming from an alleged illegal Medicaid billing scheme.

Attorney General: Connecticut Joins 21 States in Partial Settlement with Tobacco Companies
Attorney General George Jepsen announced that Connecticut has joined 21 other states in a partial settlement with the major tobacco companies of a dispute dating from 2006 regarding payments to the states under the 1998 tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA).

Attorney General George Jepsen has joined with attorneys general in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York in asking federal regulators to broaden their generic environmental impact review of spent nuclear fuel storage at nuclear power plants.

Attorney General Jepsen Reaches Agreement with Penguin over eBook Price-fixing Allegations
Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that Penguin Group (USA) Inc. has entered into a settlement agreement to resolve claims asserted by Connecticut and 32 other states and territories in a lawsuit alleging price-fixing and collusion in the market for electronic books, or eBooks.

Connecticut, New Jersey Settle Clean Air Lawsuit With Owners of Coal-Burning Generating Plant
The owners of a Pennsylvania power plant have agreed to stop burning coal in two generating units and to provide $1 million towards environmental mitigation in Connecticut and New Jersey as part of a clean air settlement announced today by Attorney General George Jepsen and Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel C. Esty.

Connecticut Medicaid, ConnPACE Programs Part of $500 Million National Settlement with Ranbaxy
Connecticut has joined with other states and the federal government in a $500 million settlement with Ranbaxy, a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer based in India, Attorney General George Jepsen, Department of Social Services Commissioner Roderick L.
