GOV. MALLOY AND LT. GOV. WYMAN'S STATEMENT ON VETERANS DAY

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statement recognizing Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2013:

"Today offers us an opportunity to honor America's Veterans who have gone above and beyond to preserve the democratic ideals and freedoms we enjoy in this great nation.

Veterans face many challenges when navigating the civilian world and transitioning to life outside of a combat zone - they need our support. We recognize state government has a responsibility to meet this obligation and ensure Connecticut's Veterans have the resources and tools they need to enter the job market, access crucial services like health care and live and work outside of the military.

Our Veterans have demonstrated the highest level of patriotism and we can never do enough to pay tribute to their selfless service. However, we want to offer a heartfelt thank you to these brave men and women who have given so much for us and our country. We ask that the citizens of Connecticut take this day to do the same."
