Connecticut Systems of Professional Learning for Connecticut Core Standards District Coaches

The Connecticut Systems of Professional Learning for Connecticut Core Standards District Coaches began in March 2014 with the first of five modules of professional development for coaches. Our goal is to prepare a statewide network of district coaches who:

  • Establish a deep knowledge of Connecticut Core Standards and shared vision of aligned curriculum, instruction, and assessment that is fundamental to supporting student growth and learning.
  • Use effective coaching strategies in professional learning communities to support educators in the transition to new standards.
  • Use data to plan and monitor implementation of the Connecticut Core Standards and adjust support and approaches to fit local needs.

Each module is designed to include practical, hands-on examples and activities to use in classrooms and with other educators.
