ENTRY LEVEL
The Town of Berlin is seeking entry level applicants for the position of Police Officer. Applications will be accepted throughout 2021. Our hiring process is on-going and based on existing vacancies. As of June 28, 2021 we have three vacant positions. We encourage interested applicants to apply at policeapp.com so you will be considered when a position becomes available. Applications and qualifications will be reviewed when vacancies within the department occur. Your application will be kept on file for one year.
- The Berlin Police Department is participating in the CPCA entry level written test program. Only individuals who take and pass the CPCA written test will be permitted to apply to the Town of Berlin Police Department. Entry level applicants must also have a valid 40 % C.H.I.P. score in order to be able to apply. Go to https://www.certifyfit.com/test-schedule/ for additional test dates and information.
- Entry level applicants must have: a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, must be a U.S. citizen by the date of appointment, must be 21 years old by the application closing date, and must not have been convicted by a court of any felony, any class A or class B misdemeanor or have committed any act which would constitute perjury or false statement.
- Register for the CPCA written exam at https://www.policeapp.com/Police-Associations/CPCA-Consortium. In order to apply you must pass the CPCA test and have obtained a minimum passing score of 70% and have a valid 40 % C.H.I.P. card or be able to obtain one prior to a conditional offer of employment.
