Governor Lamont, Treasurer Russell, Legislative Leaders Announce Legislation Funding CT Baby Bonds
Governor Ned Lamont, Treasurer Erick Russell, Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney, House Speaker Matt Ritter, and State Senator Pat Billie Miller today announced that funding has been identified for CT Baby Bonds, a first-in-the-nation initiative that invests directly in Connecticut children born into poverty, that will allow the program to begin on-time and reduce the overall cost by over $200 million.

Governor Lamont Announces $3.7 Million in State Grants To Preserve 1,025 Acres of Open Space and Create Five New Community Gardens
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is awarding approximately $3.7 million in state funding to aid in the purchase and protection of more than 1,025 acres of open space in 14 communities throughout Connecticut. Additionally, $46,875 will aid in the creation of five new community gardens and green spaces in a targeted investment community.

Biden, Jr. directing flags to be lowered throughout the country as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the mass shooting in Allen, Texas on Saturday – he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to fly at half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
