• 4/3/2019 OHS Approves Western CT Health Network and Health Quest Merger Application

  Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS) Executive Director Vicki Veltri announced today that the Certificate of Need application for the transfer of ownership of Western Connecticut Health Network, Inc. (WCHN) and Health Quest Systems to a newly-formed not-for-profit entity has been approved subject to quality, cost, and accessibility conditions. Pursuant to multiple sections of the General Statutes, OHS leads the Health Systems Planning Unit that administers the Certificate of Need program—a regulatory responsibility to promote statewide health facility and service development and monitor the impact of provider acquisitions and consolidations on the communities they serve.

• 3/21/2019 Tuesday: OHS Holds Public Hearing in Orange for Certifcate of Need Application

  (Hartford, CT) – On Tuesday, the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy will hold a public hearing in Orange, Connecticut for the Certificate of Need application that would transfer ownership of Milford Health and Medical, Inc., the parent company of Milford Hospital, to Bridgeport Hospital, a member of the Yale New Haven Health System.

  (HARTFORD, CT) – The Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, for the Prospect Manchester Hospital / Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Certificate of Need application related to cardiac care.
