GOV. MALLOY, LT. GOV WYMAN ANNOUNCE DEPARTURE OF HEALTH REFORM ADVISOR
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that Jeanette DeJesús, Special Advisor to the Governor on Health Reform and Director of the Office of Health Reform & Innovation, will depart her position with the administration in January to become Senior Vice President of the Wheeler Clinic, Inc.
The Office of Health Reform & Innovation was established within the Office of the Lt. Governor and is responsible for coordinating the state's approach to federal health care reform.
"For the past two years, Jeannette has worked closely with our administration on finding smart, strategic, and cost-effective ways to implement federal health care reform in Connecticut, with the goal of increasing affordability and access," Governor Malloy said. "As a result, Connecticut has become one of the leading states in implementing these critical reforms, and we are committed to continue working with President Obama and our Congressional delegation to ensure that our state's residents benefit from the increased coverage and savings that these new federal laws provide. Jeannette's leadership and contributions helped guide our state to maximize these efforts. While we understand why she is seizing this new opportunity, her contributions to the state will long pay dividends."
"Our administration has made improving Connecticut's health care system a priority since we took office and Jeannette's knowledge, dedication and passion has been a valuable asset in that effort," Lt. Governor Wyman said. "I thank her for her many contributions, wish her the best of luck and look forward to working with her in the future."
DeJesús said, "I am honored to have to been associated with this administration. I'm comfortable making this move because of the progress that has been made in implementing health reform - the Health Insurance Exchange, the All Payer Claims Database, and significant strategies, policies and collaborations with consumers, payers and providers. I am grateful to the Governor and Lt. Governor for their trust and confidence in me."
