TODAY: GOV. MALLOY PARTICIPATES IN DEDICATION OF SUPPORTIVE HOUSING APARTMENTS IN HARTFORD; ATTENDS LAUNCH OF IKEA'S SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM
(HARTFORD, CT) - This morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the dedication ceremony of the Sue Ann Shay Place Apartments in Hartford. The new building hosts 34-units of supportive housing and was built by My Sister's Place, a nonprofit agency dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless women and their children.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will join executives of IKEA in New Haven at a ceremony launching the store's new solar energy system, which is the largest in the state. The system is 118,000 square feet and consists of 3,920 panels that will reduce carbon dioxide by 836 tons, the equivalent of powering 95 homes for a year.
