FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT CSEA CONVENTION; ATTENDS VETERANS' STAND DOWN EVENT; ATTENDS NEWS CONFERENCE WITH US LABOR SECRETARY
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give a speech at the Connecticut State Employees Association's (CSEA) biennial convention in New Britain.
Later, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will give remarks at the 20th anniversary of the Department of Veterans' Affairs "Stand Down" event in Rocky Hill, where 1,000 veterans are expected to receive health and wellness services, job placement and workforce training, and assistance navigating state and federal agencies.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy and other state and local officials will join United States Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis at a news conference in Norwalk to celebrate the $12 million grant awarded to five Connecticut community colleges, Eastern Connecticut State University and Charter Oak State College in health/life sciences.
