GOV. MALLOY: STATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER RETURNS TO MONITORING STATUS
Tests Do Not Indicate Any Detectable Levels of Hazardous Materials
(HARTFORD, CT) - The state's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) returned to monitoring status at 5:00 p.m. today as initial tests did not indicate any detectable levels of hazardous material entering the state as a result of an industrial fire in Ghent, New York.
"Initial testing done by the Connecticut National Guard does not indicate any detectable levels of hazardous materials in the state," Governor Malloy said. "The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Environmental Protection Agency will conduct further precautionary tests over the next few days. I would like to thank all agencies involved in today's activation."
