FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT SMALL BUSINESS FORUM; PARTICIPATES IN EVENT COMMEMORATING 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION; TOURS CSC IN NORWICH

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give closing remarks at a forum on small businesses presented by The Hartford in association with the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the MetroHartford Alliance. During his remarks, the Governor will announce the launch of the Main Street Investment Fund - a new state program that will help municipalities attract small businesses and increase commercial activity in town centers.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will give remarks at the opening luncheon of the "Freedom Will Ring" event, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Later, Governor Malloy will tour CSC's Norwich offices for an opportunity to tour the facility and meet with the company's executives and staff. CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) is a global leader in providing technology-enabled business solutions and services. The company employs 1,700 people in five facilities in Connecticut.
