SATURDAY: GOV. MALLOY TO WELCOME HOME
600 CT NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIERS
(Hartford, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join General Thad Martin at the William A. O'Neill Armory to welcome home 600 Connecticut National Guard soldiers from Afghanistan. Commanded by Lt. Colonel Fran Evon of Newington, the 1st Battalion 102nd Infantry departed Connecticut in November 2009 for training, before being deployed in combat missions overseas. The troops returned in November and have remained on active duty until this weekend.
