• Public Hearing on Connecticut's 2018-2019 Winter Heating Assistance Program

  The State of Connecticut’s Federal Fiscal Year 2019 Low-Income Energy Assistance Program Block Grant Allocation Plan will be the subject of a joint public hearing before the Appropriations, Human Services, and Energy and Technology Committees on Friday, August 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Room 2E of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

  The State of Connecticut’s 2018 Low-Income Energy Assistance Program Block Grant Allocation Plan will be the subject of a joint public hearing before the Appropriations, Human Services, and Energy and Technology Committees on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Room 2E of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

• Summer EBT program to bolster food aid for children with new federal award to Connecticut

  The Connecticut Department of Social Services, in collaboration with the State Department of Education, today announced that Connecticut has been selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to run a Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer for Children program over the next three years in an effort to explore ways to alleviate hunger among low-income children during the summer. It is one of only four states and tribal nations approved for the program.

• Notice of Intent to Amend Medicaid Waivers For Individual and Family Support and Employment and Day Supports

  In accordance with the provisions of section 17b-8(c) of the Connecticut General Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of Social Services intends to submit the following two applications to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”).

• CHCPE Annual Report for SFY 2018

  The Connecticut Home Care Program exemplifies the state's long-standing commitment to comprehensive community-based care for elders in need of long-term care. By enabling and providing supportive services at home, the state has helped to preserve the dignity and autonomy of older persons and has assisted families struggling to maintain older relatives at home.

• Medicaid Waiver Applications

  The CT Department of Social Services is the single state agency for the Medicaid program and is responsible for the overall administration of the program, including all federal Medicaid Waivers. This section will provide the notice of the Department of Social Services’ intention to submit a federal Medicaid Waiver application to the Centers on Medicare and Medicaid Services. Medicaid Waiver applications may include a submission for a new Medicaid waiver application, renewal or amendment.

• Medicaid State Plan Amendments

  Current State Plan Amendments submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

• Medicaid State Plan Amendments

  Current State Plan Amendments submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

  Public hearings on both block grant allocation plans are to be scheduled soon. Once the logistics are finalized, this information will be updated to include the date, time and location.

• Notice of Intent to Amend Personal Care Assistance and Home Care Program for Elders Medicaid Waivers

  In accordance with the provisions of section 17b-8 of the Connecticut General Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of the Department of Social Services intends to amend the Personal Care Assistance (PCA) and Home Care Program for Elder Medicaid Waivers to increase the individual cost cap to reflect wage and rate increases for self-directed Personal Care Assistants.
