The 2020 LIRA refresher course for local health officials is to be completed online due to COVID-19 concerns. The online course consists of 15 modules found on CT TRAIN. Please complete each module in order starting with A and ending with O. You will need to download the two PDF documents  below and complete them for the hands-on exercises in module J. Once you have completed the hand-on training, email the documents to Jim Vannoy at jim.vannoy@ct.gov.These documents must be completed and returned before permission to take the examination will be given.

To get approval to take the course click on the link below. You will be taken to CT TRAIN and there you will click on GET APPROVAL button to register for the course. Once you are approved, you will be notified through email and you can start the course. If you don't receive email notification that you have been approved, make sure that in your Profile in CT TRAIN under ACCOUNT that you have your correct email address listed and you have selected the 2 YES buttons under email address allowing email and update notifications.

Once you are finished with the course, you will be sent a link to an online examination. With the successful completion of the examination (at least 70% correct), you will receive a training certificate that will certify you can do lead inspections for your health department. The expiration date of the new certificate will be in 2021 on the day that you completed the in course 2019.
