The purpose of the project is to address the deficiencies found in the different elements of the structure and upgrade to a “State of Good Repair”.

The bridge is a multi-girder system that was built in 1958 and reconstructed in 1993. The structure has four lanes and is 1682 FT long with a deck area of 155080 SF and a maximum span length of 120 FT. The bridge has a roadway width of 76 FT; out to out deck width of 92 FT; Approach roadway width of 76 FT; and a left curb or sidewalk width of 8 FT.

This project will include steel and deck repairs: deck joint replacements; substructure repairs; installation of membrane waterproofing and bituminous concrete overlay; spot painting of superstructure; and replacing the missing anchor bolts of bearing devices. The superstructure presently has an overall Condition Rating of seven (Good), Operating Rating of 0.91 and Inventory Rating of 0.70. The structure was last evaluated in 2021. Other components subsequently identified as deficient or in need of repair/replacement during the life of the project may be included as necessary in the project.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2026 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s).  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $29.75. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 90% federal funds and 10% state funds.
