Am I allowed to apply to both the Climate Smart Farming Grant and the Farm Transition Grant?
Answer: Yes. Eligible applicants to both the Climate Smart Farming Grant and Farm Transition Grant are able to submit an application to each program. The applications should cover separate projects requiring separate expenses for each project

Are letters of support for the project accepted with the application?
Answer: Absolutely. Letters of support from project partners or anyone who would be impacted by the completion of the project are encouraged to support your application. At the bottom of the application there is a space to upload additional attachments, and that is where letters of support should be added.

Are the funds for this program Federal funds?
Answer: The funds for this Grant program are not Federal funds.

Do I need a fiduciary agent to apply for this grant?
Answer: Fiduciary agents or financial sponsors are not required to apply for this grant.

Is it beneficial to attend the webinar on 12/19 and hold off on my submission?
Answer: Awards for this program will not be made on a rolling basis. All applicants are encouraged to attend the webinar on 12/19 before submitting their application.

What is the maximum length for responses to the Grant Narrative questions?
Answer: The document containing all responses to all Grant Narrative questions should be no longer than 5 pages.

Who should sign the Cognito application form?
Answer: The individual who signs the Cognito application form should be the person submitting the application. Whether that person is the project manager, project contact, grant writer, etc., all are acceptable. The signee does not need to be the Executive Director of the organization, or the signature of a fiduciary sponsor if utilizing one. Whoever submits the application, signs the bottom for record-keeping purposes.

Will the awards for this grant be a simple ‘yes or no’? Or is there room for questions and negotiations as the reviewers narrow down their grant choices?
Answer: There will be opportunity for the review panel to follow-up with applicants and ask clarifying questions about the submitted projects. Decisions will not be made as immediate yes or no.
