Media availability on DEEP’s recent use of a drone to identify hotspots to aid in containment of recent Riverside Thompson forest fire.
What: Media availability on DEEP’s recent use of a drone to identify hotspots to aid in containment of recent Riverside Thompson forest fire. Drone pilots will be on hand demonstrating use of the drone. Staff will also speak about precautions to take to prevent forest fires and the impact of current drought conditions on the potential for forest fires.
When: 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18
Where: DEEP Eastern District Headquarters, 209 Hebron Road, Marlborough
Who: Rich Schenk, DEEP District Fire Control Officer and Incident Commander for Riverside Thompson fire; DEEP Emergency Response and Spill Prevention Division staff members/drone pilots Vince Long and Gil Richards
Other information:
The designated parking area for media will be the first parking area on the right-hand side, just beyond the brown house and immediately before the yellow gate.
